Clean and dry the area to which the electrodes are to be applied with soap and water prior to application of the electrode.
Plug the lead wire into the Pin Connector on the pre-wired electrode.
To apply to the skin:remove the protective liner from the electrode and apply to the prescribed location.
To remove: Lift the corner of the electrode and peel holding both the black electrode and the edge of the adhesive.
Place the electrodes on glossy side of storage card and remove the lead wires by twisting and pulling at the same time.
Clean the skin with soap and water after removal. Repeated application may be improved by washing the adhesive for one second under cold running water and allowing to air dry (do not heat it). Over saturation with water will reduce the adhesive properties of the electrode. Or moisten skin with tap water and allow 1 minute for the adhesive to anchor to the skin before putting any tension on the lead wire attached to the electrode.
The electrode pads are intended for use by one patient only. Do not share TENS Unit Electrodes.
Adjust stimulator according to stimulator and health professional instructions for your treatment.
Do not apply to broken skin. If rash or skin irritation occurs, discontinue use and contact your physician. Do not use while driving a motorized vehicle, or operating machinery. Do not exceed 0.1 watts.
Federal Law restricts this device to sale by, or on the order of, a physician or other licensed practitioner. Use a neurostimulator approved for distribution within the USA.
Do's and Don't's for TENS Electrode Removal
Do: Peel electrode pad from liner or skin by lifting at any corner.
Don't: Pull on the wire at any time for removal.
When removing electrode pads from the liner, peel up by any corner.
Save original liner and packaging for storage of tens electrodes.
When treatment is done, remove electrode pad from the skin by again peeling up from any corner.
Place tens unit electrodes back on original liner and in original packaging.
If electrode gel would seem dry, add just a few drops of water on the gel.

Low Frequency: The lower frequencies, 2-5 Hz, are believed to cause the body to react. The reaction creates natural painkillers, or endorphins. The endorphins block the pain naturally and while popular, this isn't the usual method of using TENS.
High Frequency: For more intense pain, higher frequencies, 90-130 Hz, work to actually interrupt those pain signals being sent to the brain. This is the most common use for the machine and while you start slow, it's not uncommon to need to up the frequency to find the best block.
Long term effects of chronic electrical stimulation are unknown.
Stimulation should not be applied over the carotid sinus nerves, particularly in patients with a known sensitivity to the carotid sinus reflex.
Stimulation should not be applied over the neck or mouth. Severe spasm of the laryngeal and pharyngeal muscles may occur and the contractions may be strong to close the airway or cause difficulty in breathing.
Stimulation should not be applied transthoracically in that the introduction of electrical current into the heart may cause cardiac arrhythmias.
Stimulation should not be applied transcerebrally.
Stimulation should not be applied over swollen, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruptions.
Stimulation should not be applied over, or in proximity to, cancerous lesions.
